People We Met:

The Idlers: This ten-piece band from St. John's, Newfoundland, brought tales of traversing the road in a pickle-colored 15-passenger van, about how big Canada is (there is a lot of Canada, apparently,) and of playing for groups of high school students who've perfected acting bored but burst into total chaos when the sweet sounds of ska hit their ears... The Idlers can be tracked at idlers.ca; check out their totally entertaining blog at that site; and see them live at Dickens' Pub tomorrow night (Tuesday, June 1st) and the Palomino on June 17th.

Derek and Distance from Music in the Park: These dudes partake in organizing the Music in the Park festival every year, check it out in Riley Park on June 27th. You can find out more at thehousecoffee.ca.

Marilyn Potts, Director, the Midnapore Cycles: St Mary's University College is back with another interesting piece of theatre, occurring in the style of a medieval cycle play, wherein the audience follows the actors place-to-place in a specifically sited production. Check it out at http://themidnaporecycle.com/. Performances start June 10th and run til June 13th.

Talk to all y'all next week--

Love
Dane
